The workshop series International Dialogue on Education (ID-E Berlin) is a joint initiative of the British Council Germany, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German-American Fulbright Commission, the Australian Group of Eight, the Embassy of Canada in Germany and the Freie Universität Berlin. Through the contributions of international participants the series aims to enrich the debate on science, research and higher education policy in Germany, to place German perspectives in a global context and to learn from positive examples from other countries.
On Thursday, November 7, 2013, the 10th ID-E conference, entitled "Exploring Difference: The International Perspective on Teacher Training" is to take place in Berlin. At the British Embassy, experts from the USA, Canada, Australia, Great Britain and Finland will be debating aims, content and structures of teacher training in their respective countries (working language is English). The conference is organized by the ID-E Berlin consortium, consisting of the DAAD, the British Council, the Fulbright Commission, the Embassy of Canada, the Group of Eight Australia, Freie Universität Berlin, and - this year - the Finland Institute.
On the following day, November 8, 2013, the German Academic Exchange Service will be hosting a symposium on the internationalization of teacher training at the State Representation of North Rhine-Westphalia in Berlin.
