Success for the German-Russian Cooperation: Center of Excellence G-Risc Receives Further Funding

The German Academic Exchange Service extended the running time of the German-Russian Center of Excellence in Berlin and St. Petersburg until 2019 prospectively and provides half a million Euros for the first two years.

The Center of Excellence German-Russian Interdisciplinary Science Center (G-Risc), which is borne by Freie Universität Berlin and St. Petersburg State University, receives further funding by the German Acaemic Exchange Service (DAAD) after a positive evaluation. Hence, the running time of the Center will be prolonged until 2019 prospectively. G-Risc supports excellent, interdisciplinary research between scientists of German and Russian universities in the fields of Physics, Geophysics, Physical Chemistry and Mathematics. The DAAD provides 510,000 Euro for activities in the years 2015 and 2016, such as research and teaching stays and scientific conferences. The focus of the center will be on implementing long-term research networks.
