"New Media and Research"
Digital technologies are becoming more and more an engine for creating new ways of conducting and communicating research. With the rise of special online platforms and tools, the traditional frame within which scholars and scientists used to discuss and publish their findings is likely to change profoundly: papers can be worked on collaboratively in real time and revised in open peer review, non-used data can be made freely available to other researchers, unsolved problems can be shared with specialists around the world. Even communication with the non-academic public is facilitated through blogs, YouTube, and social media. Junges Wissenschaftsforum Dahlem will offer you two rounds of expert workshops in which you can learn and discuss how new media are transforming research and what challenges are still lying ahead.
The event will take place on July 15, 2014 from from 4.40 pm to 9.00 pm at the Seminaris Campus Hotel.
