Tutorial

Introduction to Qualitative Research Methods (Tutorial II): Case studies from the areas of gender studies and health communication. The focus of this tutorial will be to broaden the knowledge of methodologies used within for qualitative social research. In small groups, students will discuss fundamental qualitative research methods, learn how these methods can be applied in gender studies, and will ultimately test them themselves in their own small research projects relating to gender studies and education.

International Research Colloquium – organized by the Interdisciplinary Center for Gender Studies (IZG) and the Center for the Promotion of Women's and Gender Studies (ZEFG), winter semester 2015/16

Aging in precarious times: Exploring the role of gender in shaping views of aging. Positive aging might be difficult to achieve for precarious workers with part-time work contracts and no concrete pension plans. This talk explores views on aging and how these differ according to gender and precariousness status based on the results of a qualitative study in which middle-aged men and women from secure and precarious backgrounds were interviewed on the topic of aging.
