Dahlem Research School
- DRS is reviewed annually by Freie Universität’s International Council.
- As a project of the German Excellence Initiative, DRS has been evaluated twice by panels of international experts: in July 2010 as part of an interim assessment and in January 2011 by a group of international university managers and researchers.
- Since 2010, DRS participates in the longitudinal study ProFile by the Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (iFQ). DRS gets data on key quality indicators of doctoral education both in comparison between DRS member programs and traditional doctorate at the Freie Universität as well as and in comparison between Freie Universität and the other four participating universities.
- The qualification courses of the Professional Development Program are evaluated continuously. Regular feedback routines with doctoral programs and candidates help to identify and address weak points and discuss further improvements. The review involves self-analysis, benchmarking and assessment of the program’s structure, content and quality in relation to current needs and profiles of course participants and by reference to national and international standards.
