Molecular Science

Molecular Science is a joint initiative of the Department of Physics and the Department of Biology, Chemistry, and Pharmacy. The program’s areas of research range from the study of small molecules, for instance to determine their dynamics or for use as model substances for larger units, up to biomolecules in complex environments. Areas of particular focus include the simulation of molecular processes, nanoscale functional materials, and biocommunication.

Doctoral students in the program prepare for their later professional lives in international and interdisciplinary environments by taking interdisciplinary seminars offered by various Collaborative Research Centers, Research Training Groups, and other units, and by participating in presentation seminars and workshops.
