Academics



The work experience is accompanied by an internship colloquium of two hours each Friday (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) which covers topics such as working life in Germany, personal organization, identifying one’s goals and expectations, communication and etiquette in the workplace, the German work ethic, hierarchies, cultural differences, etc. A written report about the experience is required at the end of the internship. Upon successful completion of all elements, students are awarded 12 ECTS credits that may be transferred back to their home institution. Please click here for the colloquium syllabus (pdf).


 

Amanda Wichert
Instructor Internship Colloquium

Amanda Wichert has 15+ years of experience in education, and has taught at companies, universities, and college programs in the US and in Germany. A native of North Carolina and a graduate of Appalachian State University, she is a founding partner of WITOS Berlin, and works as a trainer, consultant, and coach. Her main focus areas are diversity and intercultural communication, (cross-cultural) careers, and project/self-management. She is an enthusiastic and interactive instructor and leads trainings in German and English.
