Project Summary: Elderly people fracture their bones more often than young people and their bones take longer to heal. An important contributor to bone function is the presence of certain stem cells within bone maintaining its structure and regenerative potential. We will investigate the aging-dependent decline of these stem cells and test whether modulating specific regulatory proteins can delay or prevent this decline.
