Project Summary

In patients aged over 65 years, the lumbar spinal stenosis is among the most frequent causes of increased disability and pain. In this study the so far unclear development of the disease will be analyzed at cell biological and clinical levels. Further, potential risk factors are identified and a risk assessment will be developed that will inform diagnostic procedures, treatment and rehabilitation. Results will help to optimize prevention strategies and interventional approaches.
