Project Summary

Subjective cognitive impairments” (SCI) are commonly observed in the elderly. Its value in the identification of persons at risk for a dementia is disputed. The project is based on an online SCI questionnaire available to a large sample of participants. First, we aim to identify factors determining the SCI score (i.e. affective state, attitudes to aging, socio-economic background). Second, we will examine the relation between SCI and the actual cognitive performance. Finally, we will initiate a longitudinal study focusing on participants with a high SCI score, but lacking cognitive deficits.
