In December last year, FUB was pleased to welcome Professor Dr. Ummu Salma Bava, acclaimed Professor of European Studies/International Relations at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi. During her visit to Berlin, she met experts at FUB to discuss exciting new plans for cooperation between both universities under the newly established Indo-German Partnerships (IGP) in Higher Education, which has been jointly financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the University Grants Commission (UGC), India. In her capacity as one of the Principal Investigators for JNU in the IGP program and as Professor of European Studies at the Centre for European Studies at JNU, Professor Dr. Bava met with Dr. Ingo Peters in order to discuss joint activities in the years to come. Dr. Peters is from the Otto-Suhr-Institute of Political Science, Center for Transnational Relations, Foreign and Security Policy at FUB and their meeting was an important step in deepening the connections between the two university’s political science faculties. Apart from contemplating upon new projects for upcoming activities in International Relations and European Studies, Professor Dr. Bava also met with experts at FUB’s Center for International Cooperation. Together with Britta Piel, Head, Funding & Liaison Offices, she discussed topics regarding cooperation in the field of university management and the potential for bilateral projects in the field of higher education. Both universities are building upon a track record of successful past collaborations and are looking forward to further strengthening their academic linkages under IGP.
