Hosting the Dahlem Conferences, Freie Universität Berlin provides a superb and quite unorthodox conference platform to the world of sciences. Up to 40 scientists of various disciplines develop interdisciplinary objectives of innovative, new research fields in rather small working groups. Conference participants are top-class specialists including Nobel prize laureates.
The Dahlem Conferences offer an intellectual retreat beyond traditional institutional and organizational boundries. As the Dahlem Conferences are prepared individually, they offer comprehensive, eclectic and structured discourses and provide an intentionally casual working atmosphere. The results of Dahlem Conferences usually go further than other conferences as they allow for a free exchange of ideas, open discussions and further development of future-oriented ideas.
