Agshin Umudov obtained an MSc in Peace and Conflict Research from Uppsala University, Sweden, and an MA in Global Studies from the University of Leipzig, Germany. Prior to this, he received a BA in International Relations from the Qafqaz University/Baku. Before joining the CREES programme, he worked as a junior lecturer at the Department of European Studies and International Relations of the Qafqaz University, where he was involved also in various projects at the Center for Energy Researches. He completed internships with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry in Baku, the International Strategic Research Institute/USAK in Ankara, and the International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility in Berlin.
In October 2012 he joined the CREES programme, where he is writing his dissertation on “oil industry and coastal pollution in Azerbaijan”.
