Katharina Mikulčak, Dipl.-Pol., studied Political Science at the Technical University Dresden and the Free University of Berlin. Subsequently she has been working as a ant of the Director of Research at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and on a self-employed basis for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ). Her research focuses on energy policy in Central Asia and the adjacent states of the Caspian Sea. Moreover she is interested in the Russian-Chinese relations.
Her dissertation topic within the framework of CREES is „Maritime Energy Security – Energy Transport Routes within the Region of the Strategic Ellipse“
