Ercan Atak, M.A., studied International Relations at the University of Ankara. In 2000 he received his M.A. degree in International Political Economy at the University of Warwick, as holder of the Jean Monnet Scholarship provided by the European Union. He has made his career as a Foreign Trade Expert (at the DG for EU Affairs, Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade, Prime Ministry of Turkey), and as an adviser of the Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee (at the Turkish Parliament) between 2000-2006.
As a scholar of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation since 2007, he has been doing his doctoral research on the topic “Liberalization of the Turkish Electricity Market” with a special focus on the reforms underway since March 2001, where the Electricity Market Law was adopted.
