M.A. Nigar Agharahimova-Muradkhanli


PhD Candidate

Nigar Agharahimova-Muradkhanli holds a Master’s Degree in economics from Baku State University. During a solid period of time she acted as a Manager of the leading energy related forums in the Caspian region, where the most important issues connected with the development of the energy sector on global scale were discussed.

As a holder of the Erasmus Mundus programme scholarship provided by the European Union, she has been doing her doctoral research on the topic “The role of the Caspian region in the European energy supply diversification” under Prof. Dr. Miranda Schreurs’ supervision. Nigar’s doctoral research focuses on different models for diversification of the European gas infrastructure in order to increase supply volumes with a special focus on the Caspian region. The research is based on both qualitative and quantitative systematic analysis.

Over a period of time Nigar has presented papers at related academic conferences and published scholarly publications focusing on her area of research.
