SPECIAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CSC: Besides PhD students who already graduated, those earning a PhD in 2017 are also eligible for application!
In December 2013, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and Freie Universität Berlin (FUB) have signed an agreement to establish a postdoctoral research program, that provides opportunities and scholarships for highly-qualified young Chinese scholars to conduct postdoctoral research at FUB. This program aims at supporting and providing postdocs with international research experience and integrating them into the university’s research networks.
Freie Universtät Berlin has a list with open postdoctoral research positions only available for Chinese PhD degree holders who graduated from a Chinese university or research institution.
According to a special agreement with the China Scholarship Council, current PhD students who will complete their doctoral degree at a Chinese university at the latest in the summer of 2017, are allowed to apply to the FUB-CSC Postdoctoral Research Program.
Starting in the summer of 2017, each postdoctoral researcher will be funded by the CSC at first for 12 months. If both parties – the Chinese postdoc and the German research group leader – agree, there will be a possibility to apply to the CSC for an extension of a second year of their research stay which will be funded by the German side.
