If you come by car, you will find handicapped parking on the parking module in Otto-von-Simson-Straße close to the Campus Library. The adjacent entrance to the Library (off Rudi-Dutschke-Weg) is barrier-free.
Please announce yourself by ringing the bell so that we know you want us to activate the automatic door. Access to the Library through hallway L ("L-Straße") is also barrier-free.
The carrel for blind and visually impaired users is carrel 43 on level 3 of the older part of the building.
This is the equipment provided:
- Windows 7, earphones
- Screen-reading software JAWS 16
- Keyboard with braille display
- Scanner: Canon LIDE 220, OCR application: ABBYY FineReader 12,
- Screen reader Optelec ClearView C.
Printer services are provided by a private company, Ricoh.
If you want to use the carrel, please turn to the Information Desk. You will need to identify yourself and leave a deposit.
The time of one session is four hours. It can be extended unless other users request the carrel in the meantime.

In the older part of the building on level 2, there are two height-adjustable desks for single-user silent work. The crank needed to adjust the desks height is available at the Circulation Desk against deposit.
There is another height-adjustable desk in the Multi-Purpose Room on level 2 of the new part of the building. The height of this desk can be adjusted simply by pressing a button. Here, group work is possible.
You will find a literature-search terminal for wheelchair users close to the Information Desk area.
Five lockers are reserved for handicapped users:
Lockers 48, 52, and 53 are intended for wheelchair users, lockers 144 and 145 for pedestrians.
