Through research scholarships and research awards the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation allows for the funding of research projects. The Foundation mainly offers funding in the natural sciences to Post-Docs so that they can conduct their research project. However, special funding for the humanities and social sciences has been established. An up-to-date information on funding and exchange programs can be found on the website of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
Through their funding projects in the fields of the humanities and engineering, the European Research Council gives researchers and engineers the possibility to realize their research projects. Researchers from all branches of research and all nationalities can be funded on the condition that their research project is conducted at private or national institutions within the European Union. The European Research Council regularly publishes research requests and scholarship offer on its website.
CIC provides funds for internationalization in a flexible and non-bureaucratic way. The Center is closing the gap in the university’s funding portfolio for international exchange by concentrating on short-term fellowships and support for temporary assignments with the purpose of initiating new international collaboration. Their are specific funding schemes for FU members and international scholars interested in research at FU. For more information on the program please refer to the CIC-Homepage.
