Ursula Eckertz-Popp received her training as a photographer in Bamberg and then went to Berlin, where she studied photographic technique. She has had numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad. She also worked for many years at the Institute of Chemistry at Freie Universität and then at the University Library. The new exhibition "Paris. A Photographic Literary Stroll" is her fourth exhibition in the Foyer of the University Library.
At the exhibition opening on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 7 p.m., the Berlin actress Andrea Held will read a selection of texts about Paris, inspired by various German and other authors from the 19th and 20th centuries, including Heinrich Heine, Erich Kästner, Mascha Kaléko, Guy de Maupassant, and Henry Miller.
In addition to the photographs, a selection of these texts from the collections of several libraries at Freie Universität will be on display.
