The academic history of Freie Universität is presented in a series of books published by the academic publisher, V & R Unipress. The seventh and final volume was published recently. It is entitled "Die Altertums- und Kunstwissenschaften an der Freien Universität Berlin." The editors are Karol Kubicki, an alumnus of Freie Universität with the student ID number 1, who was the first student to enroll at Freie Universität and later became a professor of neurophysiology at his alma mater, and the sociologist Dr. Siegward Lönnendonker.
Dr. Siegward Lönnendonker studied physics, mathematics, sociology, political science, and psychology at Freie Universität Berlin. He was the founder and director of the APO (Extra-Parliamentary Opposition, or student movement) Archive of Freie Universität and has published several works on the history of the APO Archive.
Professor Dr. Stanislaw Karol Kubicki studied medicine, art history, and archaeology at the main university in Berlin, then called Universität Unter den Linden (which later became Humboldt-Universität) and Freie Universität Berlin. He was head of the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology and the executive director of the Neurological-Neurosurgical Clinic of Freie Universität. His student ID number at Freie Universität was 1.
