German Academic Exchange Service Welcomes Students in Henry Ford Building on November 30

№ 371/2011 from Nov 29, 2011

On Wednesday, November 30, 2011, Freie Universität Berlin will host an official reception by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for scholarship holders from abroad. About 500 scholarship holders from 85 countries will be welcomed in the Henry Ford Building. They will be studying at 30 universities in Berlin and Brandenburg. Most of them chose Freie Universität for their year abroad. Nationwide Freie Universität is also the most popular university for foreign students. It is also the German university with the greatest number of its students spending a semester or more abroad.

Journalists are welcome to attend. We will be happy to arrange interview partners for you.

The president of Freie Universität, Prof. Dr. Peter-André Alt, who along with the General Secretary of the DAAD, Dr. Dorothea Rüland, will be welcoming the students, noted that he was very pleased about Freie Universität's popularity with students from abroad, as well as by the mobility of so many German students at Freie Universität. Both of these factors testify to the success of the university's international orientation.
