Educating Green Ambassadors

U.S. State Department and SAUCE (Schools@University-Klima und Energie) Program at Freie Universität Berlin Hold Workshop

№ 63/2010 from Mar 18, 2010

At the invitation of the U.S. State Department, young German alumni of U.S. State Department exchange programs have been invited to participate in a workshop at Freie Universität on March 19 and 20 to receive training to become Green Ambassadors. The Green Ambassadors Program is an educational and interactive workshop designed to empower German youth to spread the word about climate change and how to counteract it. The program is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Germany, in collaboration with the SAUCE (Schools at University for Climate and Energy) Program at Freie Universität Berlin.

The SAUCE educational program was designed by the Environmental Policy Research Centre (FFU) of Freie Universität Berlin. It is being funded for three years through the Intelligent Energy – Europe program of the European Union. In 2009 it was selected by the German section of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an “official project of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.”
