Collaborative Research Centres (SFB)

Collaborative Research Centres (SFBs) are temporary (lasting up to twelve years) university research centers in which scientists and researchers work together within a cross-disciplinary research program. Projects from several universities and other institutions can be included.

Freie Universitaet Berlin hosts 11 SFBs and participates in 8 others. In addition, Freie Universitaet is involved in 6 SFBs through Charité-University Medicine, Berlin.
