Interdisciplinary Centers

The first interdisciplinary centers were founded in 2001, as multidisciplinary, project-oriented research alliances within Freie Universität Berlin.

They act as a structural element in research geared toward specific topics. Interdisciplinary centers also offer a forum for interdisciplinary communication and academic sharing of ideas and information relating to a specific set of topics, which are explored in the form of cooperative research projects, publications, and events. This section discusses interdisciplinary centers established after 2002.

Currently Freie Universität has the following Interdisciplinary Centers.
